Membership of the KZNYO is a
prestigious accomplishment |

Membership
is open to all youth between the ages of 12 – 23 years old who
have a minimum of musical Grade 3 or equivalent in an
orchestral instrument and are able to read music |
|
KZN Youth
Orchestra is not a music school, and we do not offer
individual musical tuition. Rehearsals are held every week at
St Mary’s School, St. Mary’s Road, Kloof on Friday from 3:30
start 4:00 to 6:30. |

Aside from
the will and want to be part of the Orchestra, there are some
prerequisites…
|
- You must be able to play an orchestra instrument
- You must be able to read music
- You must be older than 12 years, but younger than 23
years old
- You must be able to play at a grade 3 level or better
- You must pay the membership fees for the year
- You are required to purchase the relevant uniform
- You must be able to attend all rehearsals, every Friday
afternoon
- You must be able to attend all appropriate concerts
- You must be able to attend music camps and additional
rehearsals where needed
